Position or Stance

Facing the Mugger, feet shoulder-width apart, (or perhaps right foot back), in effect a Neutral Stance.

Your left hand at your solar plexus, the pit of your stomach, where it is directly able to catch the End of the stick as it rises up into it.

Tip of walking stick touching the ground below your right shoulder, close to your right foot.

Your right hand grasping the actual shaft directly next to the start of the curve of the handle, Grip 1. Rather like holding a sword.

This is the Normal Position, an innocent non-threatening stance not likely to alert the mugger to your coming action.

Which is going to be the Billiard Thrust into his face.

With right wrist action only, tilt the End up into your left hand and – in the same instant!!! – DRIVE the Tip into his throat or eye like a Spear. ZAP!!! The left hand encircles the shaft as the right hand ploughs the stick on through and into the mugger’s face or eye.

You recoil almost even faster that you struck into him. Giving him no chance whatsoever of gripping the stick. This is a LIGHTNING FAST THRUST INTO HIS FACE.

There is no sidewise component; it is a direct thrust into him. And withdrawal.

The Billiard Thrust

Without any warning –

  • Flick the End up into the cradle of your Left Hand and
  • As your left fingers loosely circle it THRUST the Tip directly into the mugger’s face;
  • INSTANTANEOUSLY RECOIL, drawing the stick back to your waist and
  • Without the slightest hesitation step forward into him and BAYONET stab his throat, ripping the End back up to your left shoulder.
  • From where smash the stick down into the angle of his right neck, or, if his hands are up in the way, into his right wrist, to break it.

It is most important to give no warning whatsoever of your intention. If you give even the slightest hint of what you are about to do, he will have a better than good chance of avoiding the attack.

As a Beginner, your attack is best delivered from a standing-still position, square-on to him. I personally would (probably) step to my left, but in your case this would risk warning him.

But you can step to your left after the Thrust and Drive, as he will probably be too concerned with his blinded eye and ripped throat to notice what your feet are doing as you position yourself optimally for the terrific Downward Smash into his neck or wrist.

A very sharp snapping action, with IMMEDIATE withdrawal to this position, ready to step into him and BAYONET DRIVE up into his throat, between his wrists.

From where you RIP his jaw upwards as you step round and smash down into the angle of his neck, or wrist if appropriate.
